TLDR: We’re hiring a product-minded mid-to-senior full-stack engineer to join our small team and build the foundations of Onca. Email our founder directly at email@example.com to get in touch!
As a small team, we work in a highly collaborative environment and you’ll have the opportunity to participate in every part of the business from idea to production.
You will be working directly with our founder and have an early seat at a breakthrough startup 🚀
As an early team member, you will get to: — Build the foundation and shape engineering practices, team, and company culture. — Practice your craft in a fast-paced environment. — Influence the direction of product and strategy — we care about your opinions.
We’re looking for an experienced individual contributor who enjoys working independently on features alongside designers to quickly build and iterate on backend/frontend and is ok with ambiguity at the earlier stages of a startup. Build the core, user-facing product. You’ll build the product and everything behind the scenes from the ground up, having a huge and direct impact by shipping your work to prod daily.
You’ll have autonomy and responsibility because we are all individual contributors. You’ll be involved in shaping the roadmap and owning the execution of it.
You’ll implement UI components based on Figma mocks and sometimes without them with your good design judgment.
You would be dabbling in WebGL to build out the foundation for our 3D CAD editor.
MongoDB in the backend. In the future, we want to explore using
Wasm. We’re open to moving to any other tech stack if you feel strongly about it and is justified for our use case.
As we build out our stack, you will get to make critical choices and lay the foundations.
We believe languages can be learned & care more about your general software engineering skill/aptitude.
You’re a product-minded mid-to-senior engineer that has built intense frontends before. Ideally, you have built a product or two of your own and are entrepreneurial.
Highly productive while producing quality code. You know when to use duct tape and when to lay a foundation.
Curious and quick learning. We don’t expect you to have experience in every technology we use, but to learn and be productive quickly. Getting familiar quickly with a codebase without any assistance doesn’t scare you.
We expect you to ship to production in your first week, ideally the first day!
Design sensibility. We expect you to have a knack for great UX, such that you feel if something is off you call it out or better yet, fix it.
Most importantly, a good heart. We don’t tolerate brilliant jerks here.
Competitive salary and meaningful equity — multiple options based on your desire for ownership. Fully-distributed culture — live and work where you’d like in an async first environment. An early seat at a breakthrough startup 🚀
